A Prayer for our Troops

Lord, please hold our troops in your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the selfless
acts they perform for us in our time of need.
Amen

               A Word of Encouragement

I remember this day so vivid.  It was an evening on a Friday night.
Sue was sitting on the couch to the left of me and I had my feet up
on the desk and we were watching the 700 Club with Pat Robertson.

I had come home earlier from a doctor’s appointment.
I went to the doctors because I was having a hard time
swallowing.  It felt like there was something in my throat.
The doctor told me to get some antibiotics and he would
see me in a week. My mind rolled over the events for
the day as we watched TV.

Have you never watched the 700 Club on TV?
One of the great moments is prayer time.
This is when Pat Robertson and others get
revelations or a word of knowledge that there
is someone out there with a spiritual or physical need,
and God is healing them Right Now.

This day they were praying. The end of the show was
coming, and Pat Robertson was signing off, saying
"And we will see you next time, God Bless."
Music starts to play, and so that's the end of the broadcast.

I often wondered just how many broadcasts are done
in a single day.  The same show must broadcast thousands
of times.  Anyway, Pat said, "Hold-on" "Someone's throat
      is being healed right now"

      "Bye"............

In that second, in that moment in time I felt tingling and warmth
in my throat.  I felt the holiness of God, His presence, His
Magnificence, His Radiance, His Love, and his Eternity.
Sue looked over to me and I looked at her.
She yelled out, "That's for you!"

Yes that was for me.  I knew that God heals people.
I have even seen people that have been healed by God.
It was good to know that God was still in the business
of reaching down and healing people.

I didn't ask to be healed; and I did not ask anyone to
pray for my healing.  There was no prayer team,
no anointing with oil.  Just a sinner sitting in a chair one
      Friday night with his wife.

You know the funny part. God even heals in re-runs.
